Traumatic Brain Injuries - present by the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association

On 11/20/2009 I attended a Traumatic Brain Injury seminar hosted by the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association. This seminar was of particular interest to me as both a professional legal investigator, and having been in the motor vehicle collision that resulted my in Dad and I both having an MTBI over 9 years ago.

There were several issues which the speakers nailed perfectly. For me personally and professionally, the injury and associated rehabilitation interrupted by ability to navigate business matters and I began training and transitioning into a job change with the medical examiners office in late 2002.

It was not until about two years ago that I was able to realize the success I had with my recovery and returned to the private sector. Those experiences and transition have made me a better investigator and allow me to offer the injured client the security and comfort knowing that I truly understand their circumstances.

The seminar was both a learning experience and refreshing in the rehabilitative sense. My wife and family were beyond loving and supportive. Dr. Thomas Bennett and his Brain Injury Clinic saved my life and potentially my family, and Kent Spence and his legal assistant worked diligently to bring our lives whole again. I will be forever grateful and thankful to all.

Nominated and Elected as VP Membership of PPIAC

I was recently nominated and elected as VP of Membership to the Board of Directors for the Professional Private Investigators Association of Colorado.  This reflects your confidence in my ability to hold this position and give back to the membership.

There are several issues that have affected our profession, and the PPIAC has been, and will continue to be, at the forefront of these.  It cannot be done without the membership - an active membership.  Colorado is a big state and I know it is difficult for many members to participate by more than email.

As the VP of Membership, I feel that I have three key tasks ahead of me:

1.    Increase the value of membership;
2.    Increase membership participation;
3.    Increase membership numbers.

There are several responsibilities, but these are the core.  It is with the assistance of the Board and Membership that these tasks become easier and more beneficial.  I won't be doing this alone - I will be asking for your help, because it is y/our association and y/our profession.  I can't make any promises, except to do my best to further these perpetual tasks.

Thank You, Dean

A PowerPoint detailing our agency

I have posted two presentations on slideshare.com.

The first is a more detailed introduction of our agency to discerning attorneys representing those that have been involved in or injured in a traumatic event, and those facing serious criminal charges.

The second is a brief presentation on our use of forensic digital photography with embedded GPS data and Google Earth.

See you on the next update...Dean

Hello - a brief introduction

This is my first blog, of any kind. I have been a legal investigator since 1987 and have an agency in northern Colorado with my wife. To save some time and space - our website has plenty of details of our agency and services (www.Forensic-Investigators.com) and we also have a business profile page on Facebook (www.facebook.com/forensicinvestigators). Feel free to visit both sites.

Our focus is for the discerning trial attorney in advocating for our mutual client due to a traumatic event or facing serious felony criminal charges.

Regards, Dean
